Dubai being the heart of UAE, is the most developed media platform in the Middle East whether its radio or television broadcast. Although there are a few local television channels which is a one reason why most people have deployed satellite or cable T.V connections at their homes or apartments to view several 100 channels of the Arab world. Etisalat runs the subcription television network in Dubai by a company called E-Vision and they also provide satellite channels from local operators such as OSN (Orbit Showtime Network) ART.OSN and the STAR TV channel. English programming is widely provided by the courtesy of OSN which broadcasts US channels predominantly and even UK, Canadian and Australian channels are being aired too with Arabic subtitles. OSN airs all the most popular English TV programmes. New TV shows are also shown by Star TV.
