Traditional and Western Music of Saudi Arabia

Both traditional and western music is included in the music of Saudi Arabia. However, the traditional music of the Arab is restricted. The most ancient instrument of music is duff which is soft in delightful. The Arab possessed a remarkable memory and eloquent people. Their eloquence is found in their poetry. 

Due to the migratory lifestyle of bedouin people they opposed to carry the musical instrument. In the basic tones of the music are made by clapping and slowly played music. Some o9f the music instruments like rhubarb and Ney to make rhythm. Although, there is found resemblance in the instruments of Arab and Western. But they have their own distinctive features. The most different musician, which has been recently added in the history of Arabian history. He had developed the industry of music widely and has composed many astounding themes and songs for himself and for his fellow beings. The name of that outstanding man is Tariq Abdul Hakeem, who contributed as a vital singer and musician. The singer of the national anthem has become the outstanding figure in the music industry. 


For the first time in 1999, Arab torch bearers participated in the festival which was held in Cairo and promote the music of Saudi Arabia. Hence it is known that music is strictly prohibited in the religion of Islam. And Saudi Arabia is one of the conservative countries of the world. But now al Farabi is introducing new sounds to the land. He is using some music instrument with about voice and this kind of music is very much popular with the youngsters. 

The music of al Farabi is famous and people are waiting for something new from him to delight their souls. Here are some characteristics of Arab music. 

First and foremost thing, as I have mentioned earlier that al Farabi music is very much popular and have the quality of rhythm and depends upon the interval structure. The instruments that are use to create rhythm are “awozan”. Genre can be divided into categories according to the social context like urban for people of city and rural for the people of the countryside. The music of Arab has its own exotic flavor that cannot be found in any other region's music. An aesthetic person can enjoy this flavor.
