What is common dress code in Saudi Arabia?

What is common dress code in Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Arabia is one of the countries that follow strictly the accepted traditions. It’s well known that women there have reduced rights in comparison with men. For example, they were allowed to vote not long ago and they still have to consider with established dress code. Even for the tourists who just visit this exotic country is recommended to wear conservative clothes with no sexy detachment.
Looked from other side, the dress code of girls in Saudi Arabia is interesting, but have you ever asked yourself how do they live in those modern ages in an ancient style? What do they have to do? In common, women must be dressed in such type of clothes that cover their entire skin, especially their neck, hair, etc. For example, their pants must reach their ankles, as well as their sleeves must touch their fingers. It’s absolutel y obligatory to cover their hair with different kinds of scarf or something like a big bandana. The pleasant here is that they can choose the color, design and shape, being fashionable as they can.
Another noticeable thing for the dress in Saudi Arabia is that all of the citizens wear a black cloak, called abaya.
Although all these rights are still in use, women in Saudi Arabia have a little happiness: they can wear any type of shoes they want! In the hot summer they can buy open sandals with high toes but that’s not all. They can also paint their nails in the way they desire no matter what color or style they choose. So, as you see the time is changing and the laws are changing, too. Maybe some day in the next few years women in Saudi Arabia will dress freely as the girls from the rest of the world.
