Convicted offenders for possession or trafficking in illegal drugs are punished by long period of imprisonment, heavy fines, and deportation. A person is subjected for prosecution possessing medicines containing narcotic compounds. Persons possessing even with the tiny quantities of controlled compounds will be prosecuted with fifteen years imprisonment. Public displays of affection or immodesty, sexual relations out of marriage, and adultery are illegal in the UAE. The United Arab Emirates has the highest traffic accidents in the Middle East, and one of the highest in the world. Road Fatalities are common on the inter city highways. About twenty five percent of road fatalities are pedestrians. Persons involved in an accident in which there is a victim, is immediately imprisoned. If the victim dies, the offender is liable for compensation for the death which is known as "dhiyya"which is equivalent to 55,000 U.S. dollars. Even in minor accidents, the offenders are prohibited from leaving the country.

The United Arab Emirates is an absolute monarchy. It has a federal system comprising Abu Dhabi and Dubai which are the largest, and best known. For many people working in the UAE, work is life. People spend the whole day either going to work, at work, or coming from work. Foreign workers are not immigrants in the UAE but temporary workers. When their contract ends, they have to leave the country. The UAE Ministry of Labor has a special department to arbitrate labor claims if a labor dispute arise.
