Makkah a place for pilgrimage for many believers

Makkah a place for pilgrimage for many believers
These events made Makkah a place for pilgrimage for many believers. However, over time the city became a place of paganism and idolatry, instead of the pure faith that the Prophet Ibrahim had intended.  Makkah became revitalized as a pure place of faith after the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon His name) was born in the city around 570 CE. However, the prophet was sent away from the city after He began to spread the word of Islam and fight against the paganism that was corrupting Makkah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon His name) traveled to Madinah, where He found people more receptive to His teachings.
