Saudi Arabia World's Third Laziest Nation?

Not one of the finest moments for the people of Middle East, sedentary or what sometimes is called as “deskbound” phenomena has engulfed a majority of population of Saudi Arabia, 68.8% to be exact. These results are based on an extensive research done by The Lancet Medical Journal which took into account 122 nations around the globe for the study of pandemic called inactiveness. The study showed that Saudi Arabia has an astounding 68.8% of sloth population that are now venerable to maladies like obesity, high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes etc. thanks to the lack of any major physical activity in day to day life.
This might sound bad but the worst part is yet to come. Experts purport that 5.3 million people lost their lives due to inactivity, which is same as deaths due to use of tobacco, making these statistics of graver concern in relation to the modern times.
What are the causes that pushed the people of Saudi Arabia into the abyss of sedentary? Well, a major contributor to this malevolent habit is the technology-integrated, lax-laced lifestyle of Middle Eastern people. Pick and drop services for practically anything and anywhere, lack of awareness along with subjugation of female populace to choose healthy habits and pecuniary edge over most of the nations to afford any luxury, has left the people of Saudi Arabia is a big lurch as far as their heath issues are concerned.
So how can these disasters be averted? For adults, to keep their metabolism active and healthy, 150 minutes of moderate exercise like cycling, brisk walking, jogging etc. is recommended. May be it is time for the Saudi populace to ingrain this idea deep into their conscious so that all the heath related hazards associated with inactiveness can be averted. Otherwise a perpetual damage, which is hiding in the plain site, might prove to be an unmitigated disaster in near future.
